Gregory Koukl, Tactics: A Game Plan for Discussing Your Christian Convictions. Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2009. $10.19 paperback. 208 pp. ISBN: 0310282926.
I read this book by Koukl for a Christian apologetics class (Defending the Christian Faith taught by Dr. Doug Groothuis) I took this past fall (2011). It is a quick read, but the material is really important for Christians who find themselves continually in contact with unbelievers and discussing issues of God and faith. Koukl has some great advice, such as, not shying away from arguments, but engaging in arguments in such a way that you don’t quarrel or get angry. His main method is called the “Columbo,” which engages other people by asking questions instead of making assertions. I would highly recommend this book for all Christians and especially those who are on the apologetic front line (although all Christians should be reaching out to unbelievers).
